The Westminster Shorter Catechism
I took part in Shorter Catechism contest that was held on Saturday, May 3rd, 2008 at San Francisco Theological Seminary. I was able to memorize 81 articles out of 107 for about 2 months and answered 75 correctly. There were 9 participants competing for three prizes: first prize: $3.000, second prize: $2000, and third prize: $1000. Michelle J Walker, Enrollment Associate for Financial Aid and Housing said that it was the hardest fought contest in years! Of the 9 people who took the test, seven reached the minimum to qualify for a prize, but the prizes only for three people. Three of my friends won the contest. I was so proud of them for they were really deserve it.
I would like to say thank you very much for those who were so kind to support me for this endeavor. Without your prayers, I do not think I would be able to make 75.
I am benefited so much by memorizing the Shorter Catechism and really encourage those, who have a chance to take it next May, to really consider about taking part in this contest.
Thank you once again, and if you want to start it earlier, the first article of the Shorter Catechism is: Man’s chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy him forever.
God bless.
